The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) in association with the Karnataka Judicial Academy and the Karnataka State Mental Health Authority, organised a one-day workshop on “The Role and Responsibilities of Stakeholders under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017”, in observance of World Mental Health Day 2025.
The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Smt. Justice Anu Sivaraman, Judge, High Court of Karnataka & Executive Chairperson, KSLSA, and presided by Hon’ble Smt. Justice K.S. Mudagal, Judge, High Court of Karnataka & President, KJA.
Distinguished guests including Hon’ble Sri. Justice N Kumar, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka, and senior officials from the Home and Health Departments, NIMHANS, and KSLSA graced the occasion.
This initiative highlights the importance of legal and institutional collaboration in protecting the rights and dignity of persons with mental health conditions — paving the way for a more inclusive and empathetic community

The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), in collaboration with the Karnataka Judicial Academy (KJA), successfully organized a Two-Day Advance Training Programme for Legal Aid Defence Counsels across the State of Karnataka.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Smt. Justice Anu Sivaraman, Judge, High Court of Karnataka & Executive Chairperson, KSLSA, who inaugurated the event and delivered the inaugural address.
The session was presided over by Hon’ble Smt. Justice K.S. Mudagal, Judge, High Court of Karnataka & President, Karnataka Judicial Academy.
Shri H. Shashidhara Shetty, Member Secretary, KSLSA, extended a warm welcome to all participants, and Smt. H.R. Radha, Director, KJA, along with other dignitaries, contributed to the success of the event.
The training aimed to enhance the professional skills, knowledge, and efficiency of Legal Aid Defence Counsels, reinforcing the shared commitment to provide quality legal aid and ensure access to justice for all.

An honourable and inspiring occasion as Hon’ble Shri Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Guardian Judge of KSLSA, along with Hon’ble Shri Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka, and Hon’ble Smt. Justice Anu Sivaraman, visited the High Court of Karnataka, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), and Karnataka Judicial Academy (KJA).
The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) had the privilege of hosting Hon’ble Shri Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Guardian Judge of KSLSA, during his visit to the High Court of Karnataka, KSLSA, and Karnataka Judicial Academy (KJA).
He was accompanied by Hon’ble Shri Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka, and Hon’ble Smt. Justice Anu Sivaraman, whose gracious presence added significance and inspiration to the occasion.
During the visit, the dignitaries interacted with members of the judiciary and KSLSA officials, emphasizing innovation, inclusion, and commitment to the cause of Access to Justice for All.
Their guidance continues to inspire KSLSA and the legal services institutions across the State to strengthen justice delivery and empower citizens through effective legal aid initiatives.

The event was organized jointly by NALSA, KSLSA, and DLSA Bengaluru Rural, with the objective of exploring modern, technology-driven, and community-based approaches to enhance access to justice and strengthen the delivery of legal services at the grassroots level.
The program was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Guardian Judge of KSLSA, and presided over by Hon’ble Shri Justice Arvind Kumar, Judge, Supreme Court of India.
