The Legal Awareness and Literacy Programme was successfully conducted on 24 April 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Government Higher Primary School, Ganakal, Bidadi, organised by Bengaluru University in association with the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) and the Bengaluru South District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). The programme created awareness among the public regarding legal rights, legal remedies, and the importance of access to justice. The participation and support of all dignitaries, faculty members, students, and staff contributed to the successful completion of the programme.

Mental Health Awareness Programme 🧠✨
A special awareness programme is being organised to highlight the importance of mental well-being and to promote a supportive and informed society.Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being and plays a vital role in leading a healthy and balanced life. In this regard, the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), along with the District Legal Services Authority, and other concerned authorities, is organising a Mental Health Awareness Programme. The programme aims to create awareness among the public regarding mental health, reduce stigma, encourage support and understanding, and provide information about available legal aid and support services.

The 1st Zonal Workshop on “From Classroom to Courtroom: Law Students as Catalysts for Social Justice” was organised by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority in association with Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and the University of Mysuru at the Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Auditorium, Manasagangotri, Mysuru.
The workshop focused on bridging the gap between legal education and practical legal service, highlighting the role of law students in promoting access to justice and legal awareness in society. The event was inaugurated by distinguished dignitaries and featured insightful technical sessions on the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, legal services clinics in law colleges, and the organisation of legal services outreach programmes.
The programme provided an excellent platform for interaction, learning, and collaboration among legal academicians, professionals, and students to strengthen the delivery of legal aid and social justice initiatives.

The event was organized by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Juvenile Justice Committee High Court of Karnataka and POCSO Committee High Court of Karnataka, along with Just Rights for Children and India Child Protection.
The programme was inaugurated by Justice Anu Sivaraman and presided over by Justice Sunil Dutt Yadav, highlighting the judiciary’s commitment to strengthening mechanisms for the protection, safety, and rights of children.

The awareness programme on prevention of child marriage was successfully conducted under the joint initiative of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority along with District Administration, Police Department, Panchayat, and Advocates Association, Bagalkot.
The event highlighted the importance of legal awareness, child rights, education, and community responsibility in eliminating child marriage. Esteemed dignitaries, officials, and participants shared valuable insights and encouraged collective action to protect children and build a safer, progressive society.

“Child Marriage Free India” Legal Awareness Workshop Held at Kudmul Rangarao Town Hall, Hampankatta, Mangaluru.
The programme focused on creating awareness about the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, protecting children’s rights, and building a society free from child marriage through collective responsibility and legal awareness.

The Prohibition of Child Marriage Awareness Programme was successfully organised at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan, Mandya, under the guidance of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) and District Legal Services Authority, Mandya.
The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble District Judge Sri H. Shashidhara Shetty, in the presence of senior judicial officers, district administration, police department, women and child welfare department, education department, advocates association, and other concerned departments.
The programme aimed to create awareness about the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, the legal consequences of child marriage, and the importance of protecting children’s rights and future. The initiative reinforces the collective responsibility of society to prevent child marriage and to ensure the education, safety, and well-being of every child.We appreciate the efforts of all departments and stakeholders in spreading awareness and strengthening child protection mechanisms in the district.

A comprehensive Legal Awareness and Outreach Programme was organised at Karwar under the guidance of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority with the participation of the judiciary, legal experts, and multiple government departments.
The programme focused on critical laws such as the Forest Rights Act, POCSO Act, child protection laws, and welfare legislation.
Several on-the-spot services, including legal aid, Aadhaar, labour registration, and health services, were also provided, reaffirming KSLSA’s commitment to inclusive justice.
