State Level Consultation on Prevention of Drug Abuse
The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), in association with the Karnataka Judicial Academy and various stakeholder departments, successfully organized the State Level Consultation on Prevention of Drug Abuse at Bengaluru.
The programme brought together Hon’ble Judges, senior government officials, law enforcement agencies, health professionals, educators, and civil society organizations to deliberate on effective strategies for preventing drug abuse and creating a healthier, safer society.
The consultation emphasized the importance of awareness, early intervention, rehabilitation, community participation, and coordinated institutional efforts in addressing the growing challenge of substance abuse.
Together, we reaffirm our commitment towards building a drug-free Karnataka and empowering our youth with knowledge, guidance, and support.
Bridging the Gap Between Legal Education and Social Justice
The 3rd Zonal Workshop on “From Classroom to Courtroom: Law Students as Catalysts for Social Justice” brought together legal luminaries, academicians, and aspiring law students to explore the transformative role of legal education in advancing access to justice and social change.
Organized by NALSA, KSLSA, Karnataka State Law University, and M.S. Ramaiah College of Law, the workshop emphasized the importance of legal aid, legal services clinics, outreach programmes, and the active participation of law students in promoting social justice.

The Legal Awareness and Literacy Programme was successfully conducted on 24 April 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Government Higher Primary School, Ganakal, Bidadi, organised by Bengaluru University in association with the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) and the Bengaluru South District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). The programme created awareness among the public regarding legal rights, legal remedies, and the importance of access to justice. The participation and support of all dignitaries, faculty members, students, and staff contributed to the successful completion of the programme.

A special awareness programme is being organised to highlight the importance of mental well-being and to promote a supportive and informed society.Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being and plays a vital role in leading a healthy and balanced life. In this regard, the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), along with the District Legal Services Authority, and other concerned authorities, is organising a Mental Health Awareness Programme. The programme aims to create awareness among the public regarding mental health, reduce stigma, encourage support and understanding, and provide information about available legal aid and support services.

The 1st Zonal Workshop on “From Classroom to Courtroom: Law Students as Catalysts for Social Justice” was organised by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority in association with Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and the University of Mysuru at the Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Auditorium, Manasagangotri, Mysuru.
The workshop focused on bridging the gap between legal education and practical legal service, highlighting the role of law students in promoting access to justice and legal awareness in society. The event was inaugurated by distinguished dignitaries and featured insightful technical sessions on the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, legal services clinics in law colleges, and the organisation of legal services outreach programmes.
The programme provided an excellent platform for interaction, learning, and collaboration among legal academicians, professionals, and students to strengthen the delivery of legal aid and social justice initiatives.
