Whereas sub-section(1) of section 357 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 mandates for the State Government to prepare a scheme in co-ordination with the Central Government for providing funds for the purpose of compensation to the victims or his dependents who have suffered loss or injury as a result of the crime and who require rehabilitation.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 357-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973(Central Act 2 of 1974), The Government of Karnataka hereby frames the following scheme for providing funds for the purpose of compensation to the victims or their dependents who have suffered loss or injury as a result of the crime and who require rehabilitation.
